About this artwork
The name "Les Jardins d'Angélique" "Angélique's Gardens" already gives an indication of the design concept: It is not a question of one garden, but of several different parts of the garden in different styles. The owners Gloria and Yves Lebellegard started the facility in 1989. The garden is divided into an English-inspired part in front of the main facade of the manor house and the more formal part with typical French elements. This garden is screened…
off at the back of the house. The history of these gardens did not leave the artist indifferent. They were built in memory of Angélique, the couple's daughter who died at the age of 19. The beauty of nature as a tribute to a beloved child. The work thus expresses a certain melancholy, but also the unbroken will to live and the strength of the parents with whom they commemorate their daughter.

As a child, she often felt abandoned and alone and fled into the magical world of colors, painting, drawing and reading to feel better. Through her lively abstract compositions, she tries to express her moods, thoughts, fears, hopes, sadness and joy and to take the viewer into her joyful, peaceful and, above all, colorful world.
