About this artwork
A picture like a mood ... The blue hour, the blue of the sky, deep blue sea ... The person seems to look into the distance, to long for something, with a certain sadness, or rather with clarity? The shadows that shape the landscape of the face are light to dark blue, a completely different color combination than the artist usually uses. Cool blue tones shape and caress the features of the dreaming woman. It almost seems as if it was gently illuminated…
in the night moonlight and all the details emerge even more clearly and perhaps a little harder. Different colored layers are applied, left to dry and then lighter or darker layers are laid over them. Exactly how the human body is constructed, this portrait was constructed, light over dark, shadows over light skin. The work is somewhat reminiscent of portraits from the 80s or Pop Art, and this reference is definitely wanted by the artist.
