About this artwork
Fog rolls in – acrylic painting on heavy paper. The dense fog in the mountains never ceases to fascinate me. The contrast between the black, hard rocks and the soft, white fog has something mystical about it, as if one might discover a secret. With acrylic on paper, I have created an expression of the hidden and the unfathomable.

A native of Bavaria, I attended school in Stuttgart. I trained in fashion and design in Düsseldorf from 1967 to 1969, graduating with a diploma. I designed various collections for fashion companies. From 2002 to 2005, I trained in Japanese ink painting in Berlin. I have held various group and solo exhibitions in Berlin, Baden-Baden, Stuttgart, and Italy. I have lived in Berlin for 40 years.
Even as a child I was interested in painting.
Ute Lempp uses acrylic paints and Japanese ink painting (sumi-e) and brings with her a background in fashion and design training from Düsseldorf. She masters both realistic and abstract styles and places particular emphasis on omission and free space in the image. Her works convey a delicate balance between lightness, inspiration from nature, and vibrant emotionality.
