About this artwork
This watercolor was created on an evening with rain showers. Once the rain was so heavy that the watercolor had to be taken inside for a short time. The raindrops left interesting marks on the picture and it was a challenge to paint in this weather. Next to the bright red poppy blooms a pink flower. A few buds, still green, are sloping downwards. A strong bright green of the leaves surrounds the flowers. Soft violet night violets are indicated in…
the background. To the right of the picture is a path, a boulder and the green/brown water from the pond. 300g handmade paper from Centennaire served as the painting ground. The picture is fixed on a white passe-partout cardboard measuring 60x80 cm.
