About this artwork
This picture shows a poppy field in June on the Danish island of Ærø. I set up my easel across the street. It was a sunny day. The easel had to be well secured because there was a fresh wind blowing.
In the foreground, yellow flowers shine between the orange-red poppies. In the distance, the bright blue of cornflowers can be seen. Green trees, bushes and white-flowering elderberries border the field. The sky is a summery, delicate blue. I applied… the oil paint expressively and pasty with a brush. This gives the picture plasticity and depth. The picture brings joie de vivre and energy into a room. The edges are white. A steel cable ensures that it can be hung up. My signature is on the front.
