In this oil painting I have captured the contrast between the dynamic, moving sea and the quiet constancy of the motionless stone. This reflects the interplay of strength and serenity. The orange-pink stone stands out against the light background and contrasts with the blue-green play of colors of the water in the middle ground. My brushstrokes are impasto and expressive. Ute Meyer is a German artist whose work has been recognized nationally and internationally, including in Denmark and the USA. She prefers to work outdoors and uses classic techniques of oil and watercolor painting. Her creative process is strongly influenced by changing weather conditions and lighting, which can either speed up or slow down her painting flow. She captures the special mood of the day in her pictures.
