About this artwork
The painter worked on a small series of some apple pictures for an exhibition. She likes apples as a fruit, she likes the shape and she likes the motif.
The acrylic paintings “Four Grannies in Conversation” and the “Apple in Happiness” focusses on the beauty of the fruit. The intention was, to paint the apples in an abstract space and not on a plate or as a classic still life, such as Cezanne or the fruit on apple trees.
While she worked on the… apple painting “Moonshadow,” she thought of an old apple sort, the Golden Delicius, the ancestor of all apple varieties.
The apple stands for so many things, maybe for Health or Happiness. Who knows whether there aren't apples in Nirvana or somewhere in space, perhaps on the moon? This is how the Moonshadow motif was created with its golden shadow and the Milky Way in the background.
The title “Moonshadow” for this apple painting was inspired by an old Cat Stevens song from 1970.
Ute Roehe is a painter with a robust artistic background, exploring traditional canvases. She employs unique brushwork and color palettes to create dynamic, textured surfaces. Her artworks are emotional landscapes, inviting viewers into introspective journeys.
