About this artwork
The North Seascapes series shows the artist's own view of the North Sea and the Wadden Sea. The painter was born at the coast in the northern part of Germany. She spent a great part of her life directly behind the dike. This landscape is very familiar to her and is a main theme in her paintings. This Wadden Sea painting shows a view of low tide on the beach of Pellorm, a small island in the Wadden Sea of Northern Germany.
The images in the paintings… show a view of a constantly changing landscape. Ebb, flood, clouds, space and light were captured by the painter for a moment. The coastal landscape of the north is a focal point of the artist's paintings at any time of year or day. The vastness and infinity inspire calm and dynamism in her painting. The regular change of high and low water, wind and light is a symbol of the timeless and the horizontal line of the sea, where the sheer vastness of the sea enters into a symbiosis with the vastness of the sky.
Ute Roehe is a painter with a robust artistic background, exploring traditional canvases. She employs unique brushwork and color palettes to create dynamic, textured surfaces. Her artworks are emotional landscapes, inviting viewers into introspective journeys.
"Our piece is the perfect focal point of a new formal dining room. So happy with the artwork."
