About this artwork
What is a tree of life?
Each will have its own meaning but if he had to choose only one to present this work, it would be the following:
Life is a long journey, sometimes difficult, sometimes even almost insurmountable, strewn with pitfalls, contrary feelings, inhumanity, violence, fear, hatred, sorrow, disarray ... But there is always a glimmer of hope, a single flame is enough to light the road at night. This burnt tree is reborn from its ashes,… gold dust brings it back to life, eyes spring from its branches like flowers giving way to fruits in the summer.
It is therefore the illustration of an existence, a journey, a succession of experiences, and above all, a symbol of hope that we are given to see.

« To capture the glances and the essence of beings is more than a practice, it is a vocation. »
V is a French artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and featured in publications such as Harper's Bazaar U.K., and Arts in the City. Describing herself as an eye portraitist, she captures a look and realistically transcribes it. V is convinced that even one eye is enough to fully represent someone as an individual. In addition, she is fascinated by iridology, which is the ancient science of deciphering a person's state of health by looking into their eyes.
