About this artwork
This is my 5th work, it is part of the series entitled “cancer of life”, it represents
a male silverback gorilla.
His gaze shows a certain sadness but above all resignation on his part.
I actually tried to highlight these emotions through this work.
to denounce what the limitless expansion of global humanity is doing to the
biosphere.
In fact, the molten aluminum that partially covers the gorilla's face is a reference
to the “cancer” that… humanity represents for life on earth in its entirety winning
of the field at all times.

Credentials
- Works on commission
Valentin Saccard, a sculptor with the soul and passion of a child, mainly uses aluminum, which he melts himself, and dead wood for his works. His style is nourished by contrasts - ying and yang, black and white, wood and metal - which resurrect the beauty of nature. Respectful of life, he sublimates the ecological tragedy by evoking man's irreverence towards nature in his creations, thus inspiring reflection and philosophy.
