About this artwork
This is my 13th work, it represents the trophy of a 350 year old chestnut tree.
The aluminum frame that pierces the washer represents the action carried out by Man to highlight it.
The atrophied areas of the black frame represent the dark parts that lie dormant in each of us.
In creating this sculpture I wanted to highlight a behavior that has always particularly disturbed me in humans.
Indeed, this sculpture, like all trophies, shows the deep… admiration that
can have a person for a living being, animal or plant.
So much so that sometimes the desire to make it a trophy becomes much stronger than the respect and admiration felt towards this living being to be able to spare it.

Credentials
- Works on commission
Valentin Saccard, a sculptor with the soul and passion of a child, mainly uses aluminum, which he melts himself, and dead wood for his works. His style is nourished by contrasts - ying and yang, black and white, wood and metal - which resurrect the beauty of nature. Respectful of life, he sublimates the ecological tragedy by evoking man's irreverence towards nature in his creations, thus inspiring reflection and philosophy.
