About this artwork
In this work, I sought to capture the essence of home and security through nature. Using ink and gilding, I drew delicate birds nesting among radiant sunflowers, symbols of warmth and growth. This symbolist painting, framed by opulent floral motifs, invites reflection on the protection and intrinsic beauty of the family bond. It will bring an atmosphere of tranquility and inspiration to any living space.
Whatever our family, home is a place to recharge… our batteries and be ourselves.
This piece is made on a background of acrylic paint mixed with pigments. Handmade paper that I made is mounted on the canvas and serves as a support for the cyanotype image. The drawings are then made with inks and the whole is varnished.
Valentine Carre is a painter, photographer, printmaker, and sculptor with inks and a revisited Art Deco style. Her techniques combine inks, engraving, and drawing. Her approach questions the place of humans, and particularly women, in the universe. Her works inspire a poetic and sensitive reflection on our position in the chain of life.
