About this artwork
In un periodo di grande inquietudine interiore, nel quale vivevo una fase di passaggio tra ciò che era stato e ciò che doveva ancora avvenire, una tensione costante ed un senso di irrequietezza mi spinsero a stendere sulla tela un fondo grigio, che rifletteva il mio stato d'animo. Cominciai a lavorare lentamente, incidendo la superficie quasi con ostinazione. Ogni graffio era un tentativo di dare ordine al caos mentale, ma dentro di me qualcosa… premeva. Il rosso emerse come un bisogno urgente, quasi fisico. In quel colore si concentravano frustrazione, desiderio di cambiamento ed allo stesso tempo una potente voglia di vivere. Le macchie rosse furono impulsi improvvisi, momenti in cui smisi di controllarmi per farmi attraversare dall'emozione. Mentre la tela si riempiva, lo stato d'animo si trasformava. Dall'inquietudine nasceva una consapevolezza nuova. Il rosso non cancellava il grigio, ma lo attraversava, come a dire che la fragilità e la forza possono coesistere.
