About this artwork
The work imposes a dark, dense, and material central core, around which fields of white, red, ochre, and orange rotate, where this central core represents the heart of the storm. Through incisive and decisively scratched strokes of color, I wanted to evoke wind, rain, and moving debris. The white is not a peaceful light but a sudden flash. The orange and ochre recall the earth, while the deep reds bring out emotional tension. The central black, irregular… and compact, represents the work's center of gravity, almost as if it were a vortex that attracts and destabilizes. The work does not describe a natural climatic event in the strict sense, but rather an internal experience. It is a landscape of the soul in which opposing forces (light and shadow, impulse and resistance, chaos and harmony) coexist in a hidden balance, almost as if the internal storm is contained, dominated, and transformed into form.
Valeria Fiaccabrino, a passionate self-taught artist, primarily uses color and matter in her painting to convey her creativity and essence. Her art is characterized by an informal, material-based abstract style, where layers of marks, pigments, and textures become the focus of the composition. Her works resonate with authentic emotions, inviting the viewer to explore their inner world and find a shared language of profound feelings and sensations.
