About this artwork
"Iride Cromatica is a visual manifesto on the resilience and refraction of the self.
In this work I wanted to explore the exact moment when the light breaks, revealing the chromatic complexity that lies within the apparent unity.
Each dense brushstroke, charged with matter, represents a fragment of experience, introspection, hope and vital impulse.
I chose to leave clearly visible, almost sculptural traces, to testify to the passage of time… and the physical energy expended in the creative act.
The element of rupture and connection is given by the golden inserts.
For me, gold represents the Kintsugi of the soul: those precious scars that do not hide the fractures of the composition, but celebrate them, transforming the dispersion of color into a superior harmony.
It is an invitation to the observer to immerse themselves in the rhythm of the reliefs, allowing the ambient light to play with the pigments and the gold, revealing a new detail, a new nuance each time.
Valeria Pianese, who signs her works with the pseudonym “Berry,” is a Neapolitan artist living in Zurich whose visual research explores the relationship between color, emotion, symbolism, and consciousness as the primary means to peer into the depths of the human soul. Influenced by Mediterranean European culture and literature and by an interest in behavioral psychology, Valeria conceives art not only as a tool for investigating experience and reality, but also as an inner transformation and a process of ongoing research. His technique is characterized by an experimental and intuitive approach that combines chromatic layering and active painting, creating material surfaces and compositions vibrant with energy between abstraction and emotion. His works therefore move in a liminal space between sensory perception and philosophical reflection, inviting the viewer to question the way images influence the way we feel and understand the world.
