About this artwork
"Don't Forget Me" is the first work in my "Birth" series and addresses the important issue of remaining present after birth not only as a mother, but also as an independent person. Strong yellow and pink tones blend harmoniously with soft gray to represent this duality between the role of mother and one's own identity. The work radiates freshness and liveliness and brings an inviting, refreshing energy to any room. It reminds us not to forget ourselves… and to preserve our own individuality, even in the new challenges of motherhood.
Vanessa Meyer discovered her passion for painting during the first Corona lockdown and has since used the canvas to visually express and process her emotions. She is always exploring new techniques and styles and is particularly characterized by the bold use of contrasting colors and expressive motifs. Her works, often with faces at the center, powerful and emotional, reflect themes of freedom, healing and emotional authenticity and challenge the viewer to accept and live all feelings.
