About this artwork
The Lighthouse is an interpretation of a place visited in a lucid dream. It is the first entry of a collection in progress named Dream Landscapes. Currently there are eight pieces in the collection and I think i will keep it open, since I am blessed to have lucid dreams from time to time and painting is a great way to share the experience. The colors in this other reality are much brighter and the vision is somehow panoramic, which is a bit difficult…
to interpret. And of course there is the ever present sense of mystery, stepping in as soon as I realize I am in a dream. The paintwork continues on the sides of the canvas (gallery wrap) so framing is possible but not necessary. The piece is ready to hang. As default this artwork is signed on the back but I can sign it on the front too if requested.

« I like to paint what I see when I close my eyes. The reality accessed with closed eyes or in a lucid dream is personal and although with limitations, painting is the best way to try to communicate it. »
Vasco Kirov is an experienced Bulgarian painter living in South Africa whose works have been exhibited internationally. After a formal education in music and working in other artistic fields as a blacksmith, knife maker, and jeweler, Kirov turned to painting as another means of creative expression. His paintings are inspired by his dreams and visualisations, using vibrant colors and textures to create striking universes on canvas. Some of his work also incorporates stainless steel mixed media as a way to blur the line between art and craft.
