About this artwork
I created this artwork inspired by the theme “Flight of Imagination “ a joint Art Exhibition at the Red Rock Regional Theatre and Gallery in Cororooke, near Colac in Victoria Australia. My desire was to create a textile embroidery artwork from my imagination, a butterfly initially printed in a deep red, from a carved block I created, onto a piece of burlap and then added embroidered sequins, fabric lace and red embellishments to form a decorative…
and fantasy styled butterfly, like a butterfly caught in time.
