The sea is out there somewhere, quiet enough that you can hardly hear it.
The figure lies in the warm sand, half dozing, half awake.
The wide sun hat protects the eyes, the hand… rests casually on the chest.
Everything about this attitude says: There is nothing to be done here.
A thin thread of smoke rises from the pipe.
It drifts slowly into the warm air, turns, and disappears into the sky.
Breathing becomes calm, almost sluggish.
A puff from the pipe, an exhalation, a little smoke, a little salt air.
It's one of those rare moments when nothing is missing.
