About this artwork
This painting has a special story. For a joint exhibition with a photographer, the art commission requested that my paintings also be included, ones that had a connection to the photographs on display. So I decided to paint four pictures that represent an abstraction or semi-abstraction of the photographs. One of these is this painting, "Zurich," which depicts the Grossmünster in Zurich from the same perspective as the photograph, but with the colors… abstracted. I slightly altered or deliberately omitted certain details. It is an homage to the fleeting beauty of urban moments, conveying the feeling of movement and life in the city of Zurich. The vibrant reds symbolize hope and warmth, which even defy the sometimes grayness of everyday life.
From file folder to canvas art / Where opposites meet
Precisely because my professional path was rather “dry,” I always sought balance in creative work.
After several years of experience in silk and watercolor painting, I developed a desire to express my freedom more fully. This is how I discovered my current great passion in acrylic painting and mixed media. I learned the craft from internationally renowned artists. I continued to educate myself in my own studio.
My images suggest the traces of the long process it often takes to find inner peace. They depict a broad spectrum of life—moments of joy, courage, and lightheartedness, but sometimes also moments of frustration, vulnerability, and chaos.
I don't want to provoke with my art, but rather build a bridge - from a stressful everyday life to a world in which our soul can find peace.
