The initial source of this work is an MRI, whose acronym, as we may know, stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Veronica uses abstract titles for her work far away from the emotions they can arouse in the observer, such as the painter Francis Bacon did. But this work could have had another title, “The Indomitable”, referring… to a sickness or to the nickname that the MRI’s inventor gave to his scanning medical machine.

Veronica Huacuja is a Mexican artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United Kingdom. She describes her blend of figurative and abstract artworks as being "obscure", depicting the human condition. Huacuja explores humanity and its precarious conditions through temporality, decadence, illness, and pain. She employs medical studies performed on anonymous, sick, or genderless people as inspiration, and refers to the results of her compositions as, “Human Landscapes”.
