About this artwork
The artist besides attending art workshops where physical models pose for her, sometimes she makes her own models using diverse methods. For this artwork, she created a 3D model in Blender (a free and open-source 3D computer graphic software).
Veronica thinks a wonderful thing about this work method is that she manages all the variables: poses, views, colors, lights, etc. She’s convinced of nowadays artists to use all the resources they have in… hand in their creation process.
After these procedures, she began sketching and painting her model on paper using wax crayon and oil paint (in very light coats). Her work is a dramatic painting.
The artist added a back view of her work.

« My interest as a visual artist is to grasp the desperate beauty within abnormality, as well as to picture its effects in human life, in human experience. »
Veronica Huacuja is a Mexican artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United Kingdom. She describes her blend of figurative and abstract artworks as being "obscure", depicting the human condition. Huacuja explores humanity and its precarious conditions through temporality, decadence, illness, and pain. She employs medical studies performed on anonymous, sick, or genderless people as inspiration, and refers to the results of her compositions as, “Human Landscapes”.
