About this artwork
I see a path coming up to the crest of a rocky hill or mountain into a red sky. What is over the crest of that hill? The images emerge unplanned from my process of moving colors, edges, shapes and textures around until they settle into a pleasing balance. Only then, and sometimes not until some time later, do I feel the sense of a place, revisited often in my paintings.
