Painted with premium tubed oils, including gold, on 20 oz canvas. Sealed with Gamblin Gamvar.
The letter P and the title emerged after working with the colors, forms and textures for some time, which is typical of my process. I was excited to realize I was remembering how I felt when I came across the Book Of Kells in 1980. The pages with the huge illuminated leading letters and all the intricate, intertwined lines, colors and wonderful imagery.… I studied it closely. The shallow depth of field aligned with the art instruction I received from prominent members of the New York School.
Signed on the front, and on the skirt of the canvas back. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
