About this artwork
Plums from my garden. Every year I paint a few paintings of Plums as they are so very beautiful. I often need to pick them before they are ripe to beat the many birds who like to take a bite from each plum. I set up my fresh fruit and paint them from life as I feel a real intimacy with the painting when I paint from life. It has a freshness and vitality which you don't get from a photo.
