About this artwork
The underlying aim of all of Victoria's work is the study and manipulation of light, colour and texture through mixed media, to evoke personal emotion in the audience, based on their individual interpretations of my work through their life experiences.
Victoria's paintings are mixed media, incorporating various materials, ranging from acrylic, watercolour, enamel, oils, and airbrushing, to stained glass, crushed mica and glass.
All canvases are… gallery box framed at 38 mm, with texture adding 20-40 mm. Canvases are handmade, and back-stapled and all edges are painted, making them ready to hang.

Victoria Stothard is a multi-disciplinary British artist who has exhibited her work throughout the UK. With varying subjects, from Greek and Roman mythology to dragonflies, butterflies and geometric abstraction, her approach is always allegorical and her underlying aim always to evoke an emotional response in the viewer. Stothard manipulates light, colour and texture through mixed media technique to create works marked by fluidity, emotion and tactility.
