About this artwork
I made this painting and I really wanted to capture that feeling of being right there in the vineyard during the fall. I started with those strong, converging lines of the grapevines in the foreground, using really vibrant yellows, oranges, and reds to show how the leaves are changing. I wanted them to almost feel like they're glowing in the sunlight. Then, as your eye moves back, I painted the rolling hills with those golden fields and hints of… darker greens to give a sense of the wider landscape. I really liked the idea of having that charming winery with the tower sitting amongst it all, like a little focal point. And for the background, I wanted that soft, hazy look of the distant mountains meeting the sky, using those gentle blues and pinks to create a bit of contrast with the warmth in the foreground. I used palette knife strokes to give everything a sense of texture and movement, so you can almost feel as being there part of the scene.
Vidyut is a landscape artist who intensely appreciates the natural world and whose work celebrates Mother Nature's vibrant hues and ever-changing beauty. Inspired by the dramatic shifts in the sky, the crashing waves, and the serene beauty of mountain ranges, her paintings capture the essence of these scenes with vibrant colors and dynamic textures. Employing an impasto style with acrylics and palette knives, Vidyut creates works with a palpable sense of depth and luminosity. The thick layers of paint evoke a three-dimensional quality, inviting viewers to experience the landscapes as if they were stepping into the painting.
