About this artwork
The work "Reflection of Silence" from the series "Silent Landscapes" conveys the feeling of a silent space where the boundaries of earth, water and sky are blurred to a barely perceptible state. Smooth, flowing brushstrokes and muted shades of grey, ochre, and cool blue create the effect of shifting and slowly dissolving the landscape into the air.
The dark horizon line reminds of the distant boundary separating the visible and the imaginary, and… the reflections on the surface enhance the feeling of depth and solitude. In this painting, the moment before the change of light, before the breath of wind, seemed to freeze — the moment when nature freezes in its pristine purity.
