About this artwork
The title of this work "IMM" was made in Baldassano's studio in New York City in the SOHO area on Broome Street,two years after he returned from painting in Portugal. The painting was exhibited at Allan Stone Gallery. The artist used the title "IMM" which with he said symbolized something personal which he did not unveil. He did refer to his previous "Elmwood" studio was destroyed in a explosion/fire while he lived in Buffalo. Baldassano was a…
young professor at Niagara County Community College at the time. Several people lost their lives during this tragedy, but fortunately Baldassano was not at his studio that particular Sunday. The painting's title "IMM" reflects his musing and nostalgia of this period of time in his career.
