About this artwork
In this series, I chose to create a dialogue between the typically Western minimalist geometric approach and the more Asian gestural approach (which I have already developed in my other series "Traces of the Tao").
On one side, 3 black lines from a perfect geometric grid (the width of the lines is equal to the width of the whites between the lines, itself equal to the size of the whites to their right and left), determined in vector form on a computer… and, to be even more coldly perfect and smooth: printed by a machine, a pigment inkjet printer (of high quality).
On the other side, 3 blue lines, thrown by hand in such a rapid and free movement that it allows the energy of the body and the instantaneous inspiration of the Tao to express themselves naturally.
High quality watercolor paper, 300 g/m2, 100% cellulose, acid-free.
An ultra-discreet, almost secret signature, so as not to influence the composition or disturb the energy.
Vincent Lecocq, trained at ENSAD and passionate about drawing since childhood, works with painting, digital art, and 3D. He explores two main avenues: an ultra-conceptual and controlled approach to digital art, and a gestural, sensitive practice inspired by Taoism and Chinese energetic martial arts. His works juxtapose geometric rigor and the freedom of gesture, creating a fascinating dialogue. He aims to awaken in the viewer a profound awareness of the impact of digital technology on reality and to invite them to experience inner energy in harmony.
