About this artwork
The line, imperfect, thrown, controlled but not too much, as the most conceptually minimal element to express human will (to draw a line) when it takes into account the constraints of the body.
Depending on the control exerted, the line reveals more or less the energy of the movement: a lot of control = little energy, a lot of letting go and freedom = a lot of energy transmitted and felt!
VERSUS
the perfectly straight and geometric line to… express pure, cerebral, disembodied human will (width = exactly 1/4 of the canvas, exactly centered, top and bottom margin = exactly 1/10th of the height of the canvas, drawn with a ruler, painted by hand but making all brushstrokes disappear...).
The result is not really an opposition but a dialogue, not a victory for one or the other but a tension, a balance, which we should all strive for.
between us
and within us!
Vincent Lecocq, trained at ENSAD and passionate about drawing since childhood, works with painting, digital art, and 3D. He explores two main avenues: an ultra-conceptual and controlled approach to digital art, and a gestural, sensitive practice inspired by Taoism and Chinese energetic martial arts. His works juxtapose geometric rigor and the freedom of gesture, creating a fascinating dialogue. He aims to awaken in the viewer a profound awareness of the impact of digital technology on reality and to invite them to experience inner energy in harmony.
