« I see my artistic work as a privileged search for the sources of life and find great proximity to original forms of magic, energy, and art. »
Viola Schöpe is a German artist whose works have been widely exhibited on a national level, as well as in France. The painter, draftsman, and sculptor's compositions explore her own "archaeology of symbolism", capturing and processing the sensual aura, energy, and power that people and things exude. Schöpe is inspired by the Navajo Indians and the African desert tribe, the Tuareg. Above all, she is interested in making things visible that one would otherwise not see.
