Inspired by the regular study and work stays in the Caribbean over the past 10 years, the sea is both an object and a study object for Viola Schöpe. It inspired them to capture the colors and flowing forms in their movement and to implement the calming character of the moment in its philosophical view, as well as painterly effects.

Viola Schöpe is a German artist whose works have been widely exhibited on a national level, as well as in France. The painter, draftsman, and sculptor's compositions explore her own "archaeology of symbolism", capturing and processing the sensual aura, energy, and power that people and things exude. Schöpe is inspired by the Navajo Indians and the African desert tribe, the Tuareg. Above all, she is interested in making things visible that one would otherwise not see.
