About this artwork
In this piece Alma en flor I use the lotus flower because of its reference to rebirth and resurgence.
This flower, already used by the Egyptians and by Buddhism, its presence alludes to reinvention, to the ability to overcome adversity, since even growing in stagnant and muddy waters it stands beautiful and radiant.
Each of the petals of this flower is a powerful, delicate and bright female torso, and together they form the splendid flower that… invites us to overcome difficulties and, like the Phoenix, rise from the ashes.

Vivi Herrera is a sculptor with a solid background in Visual Arts, specializing in three-dimensional sculpture, currently based in Andean Patagonia. She uses techniques such as assemblage, carving, modeling, and casting, working primarily with reclaimed materials such as wood, stone, metals, and, more recently, recycled aluminum. Her contemporary figurative sculptures highlight the feminine, exploring both strength and delicacy, conveying vitality, power, resilience, and a profound celebratory emotion of life and female identity.
