About this artwork
This is a visual poem representing the concept of a tree as an explosion slow-motioned in time. it was white-glove-painted with metallic oil paints on aluminum leaf applied on a Clayboard panel and chemically-treated with pearl and silver colorants, and sealed with gloss varnish. The archival white gloves are required during the process of painting on metal leaf to avoid leaving finger-prints. A board preparation was a time-consuming manual labor.…
It was designed to resemble a metal panel and needs no framing. Metallic paintings are difficult to reproduce in photos because the effect depends on the angle of the view.
