This artwork is about fragility of our life. The artist remembered the short story "The pit and the pendulum" by Edgar Allan Poe. This artwork is not an illustration to this story, it is improvisation on the theme. However, the shape of pendulum is following the Poe description - it is constructed like a scythe and is making a razor-sharp crescent... but this part is flipped. Vladimir Kolosov is an artist based in Canada whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Russia and Italy.
