Volker Mayr is a German painter who initially started with figurative works under the influence of his grandfather, who was himself a painter. Today, his abstract oil paintings with pasty paint application on white primed canvas inspire his collectors. His compositions have a strong luminosity, which can be rediscovered again and again depending on the lighting situation. Similar to a composer with music, he arranges the colors on the canvas to create a harmonious overall concept.
