About this artwork
In the style of abstract expressionism, this oil painting conveys the atmosphere of a jam session. Like so many of Volker Mayr's pictures, this one is also inspired by music, here by jazz.
Lively colors and shapes immerse the viewer in the feeling of being right in the middle of a group of jazz musicians and with a little imagination you can hear great jazz music, blues in the face of warm, dark colors, cool jazz with the shades of blue.
The abstract… oil painting is signed and dated on the front, titled, dated and signed on the reverse. a picture hook on the stretcher allows hanging without a frame, although a frame (preferably a floater frame) can increase the attractiveness of the picture.

Volker Mayr is a German painter who initially started with figurative works under the influence of his grandfather, who was himself a painter. Today, his abstract oil paintings with pasty paint application on white primed canvas inspire his collectors. His compositions have a strong luminosity, which can be rediscovered again and again depending on the lighting situation. Similar to a composer with music, he arranges the colors on the canvas to create a harmonious overall concept.
