Every line, every stroke, every tiny indentation was wrested from the material with a chainsaw.
A material that resists. That puts up resistance. Against the desired course of action. Ultimately, the saw, even though it suffers and almost glows red-hot, is the stronger force. And so is the human will. To create. To bring something into being. Is that good? Is that right? I don't know. I have… dedicated a lifetime to creating. Whether this was right or good, others will decide. Generations.
This wooden artwork is a vibrant representation of movement and depth. It is one of many attempts to capture the raw energy of the chainsaw and the organic energy of the material, creating a connection between material and tool, between nature and emotion.
Have I succeeded? That's not for me to decide.
