About this artwork
In times of gain as well as loss, it is important to recognize the gifts of life, and to take consolation in these blessings. Wayne Amedee’s “Consolations” series takes as its starting point an autobiographical reference to lessons learned in a time of loss in the artist’s life, when he found comfort for his loss within a lifetime of gifts of time, happiness, and love. As life progresses, these gifts accumulate in memory and reality, always available…
for the consolation needed to continue moving forward, open to the gifts the present and future bring.
