About this artwork
In this piece, I playfully blended the lines contrast of comics with the fluidity of impressionism and the energy of pop art. The dripping colors symbolize tears of suffering, and the horror of the ending of all life captured with a cosmic lament. This painting radiates a powerful, haunting energy, as it expresses fears of nuclear war, and great destruction.
I am Gen-X, and I remember things back in the eighties that gave us all a fear that the… world was going to be destroyed. I'm disturbed that the peace that was build to save us, did not last. So for me this an emotional flash back, of fear of the end of the world, and the war and destruction leaders around the world have placed us in.
This was a Monday art day, project I did this week, Focused off the before mentioned fears, and emotions. I decided to post it, because of the raw imagery in the composition and limited use of colors and the dripping effect that give sadness and fear of the image itself.
