About this artwork
In this artwork, I harnessed the interplay of shadow and light using colored pencils to evoke a scene brimming with realism and fine art sensibility. As the artist, I was drawn to capture a moment that speaks to tradition and the rawness of life. The figurative work invites contemplation on the cycle of existence, weaving an emotional narrative with each stroke. It is a piece that will infuse any space with a profound and thought-provoking energy.

« "I believe, as an artist, it is important to respond to social and political events, both historical and current, making work accordingly." »
Wayne Clough is a painter who resides in the United Kingdom and has exhibited his works in both solo and group events nationally and in Poland. In his works, he hopes to re-engage the viewer with seemingly forgotten political and cultural events of the past. Through an almost archival approach, Clough captures representations of lived experiences. He prefers to use oil in his pieces but also works in a number of mediums, moving from color to monochrome depending on the composition.
