About this artwork
This painting depicts a polo pony and rider in the midst of a thrilling match. My intention was to capture the speed, athleticism, and motion of the sport, creating a sense of dynamic energy that leaps off the canvas. The rider leans forward in the saddle, his body tense with the effort of controlling the powerful horse beneath him. The pony gallops across the field with a sense of grace and agility, its mane and tail streaming behind it. The hues…
of blue and green in the painting evoke a sense of coolness and calmness, even in the midst of the intense action. This painting is a celebration of the power, beauty, and excitement of the sport of polo

« Rather than capturing a single moment, my paintings employ the use of bold colors and organic shapes rendered in motion. »
Weatherly Stroh is an artist based in the United States whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. She describes her subjects as existing on "the edge of a breakdown of representation" which are held together by strong composition and realistic form. Having grown up in the countryside, animals and nature themes are contestants in Stroh's distinctive compositions. She primarily creates with oils on linen or metal.
