Burst of Joy is an expressive abstract painting that celebrates the feeling of light, energy, and spontaneous happiness. Vibrant yellows and warm coral tones radiate through layers of cool blues and greens, creating the impression of joy spreading outward across the canvas.
The painting was built up in many layers using thick, textured brushwork. Short, energetic marks and palette-knife touches were used to create a rich surface where colors interact… and vibrate against one another. Areas of impasto add depth and movement, allowing light to catch the raised paint and enhance the luminous effect. The interplay of warm and cool colors gives the composition a sense of rhythm and vitality, capturing a fleeting moment of brightness and joy.

Through layered washes and subtle shifts in tone, I create atmospheric spaces that are felt rather than defined—suggesting fragments of place, emotion, and time. The process is intuitive and material-led, allowing the surface to evolve gradually, often revealing traces of erosion, softness, and quiet transformation.
Rather than depicting specific locations, these works reflect an internal geography—where memory dissolves into light, and form emerges through absence as much as presence.
Each piece is part of an ongoing exploration of how we hold and experience fleeting moments: through atmosphere, through texture, and through the shifting language of the surface.
