About this artwork
Soft moonlight enveloped her path, guiding her toward the gate like creamy white petals leading a bride to the altar. She needed to be in these gardens. The beauty breathed life into her. Filled her very soul.
Wietzie created "Tulips in Moonlight' with a painting knife using a unique impasto technique, which adds texture and movement to express an inner emotional state. Working in a bold, colourful and inventive gestural style, Wietzie’s work is… characterized by their luminous layers of colour. Wietzie is inspired by nature and poetry, and uses both to interpret the minutiae that stirs her emotions.
Wietzie’s coefficiency has been determined by curators of the art galleries representing her. The coefficient attests to the international fame and artistic value achieved by the artist, and determines the correct pricing of her work. The art coefficiency is an indispensable tool for ensuring your investment in her art is accurate and secure.
« Art is an adventure full of mystery, frustration and profound joy. I am continuously torn between despair and elation. »
My work explores the relationship between light, memory, and inner landscape.
Through layered washes and subtle shifts in tone, I create atmospheric spaces that are felt rather than defined—suggesting fragments of place, emotion, and time. The process is intuitive and material-led, allowing the surface to evolve gradually, often revealing traces of erosion, softness, and quiet transformation.
Rather than depicting specific locations, these works reflect an internal geography—where memory dissolves into light, and form emerges through absence as much as presence.
Each piece is part of an ongoing exploration of how we hold and experience fleeting moments: through atmosphere, through texture, and through the shifting language of the surface.
