Series: Painter on the Road
A figure steps out of its own painting.
Torn rice paper, ink, shellac, and primer build a surface that is never quite finished — deliberately so. The seated figure emerges from the picture plane as if crossing a threshold: one arm reaching outward, the composition itself dissolving at the edges… into raw ground and scattered pigment.
The rectangular form surrounding the figure reads as canvas, frame, and exit simultaneously. What is inside and what is outside remains deliberately unresolved.
Bliss 07 is part of the Painter on the Road series — works made in motion, where the act of painting and the subject of painting become one.
