Willem Van Der Weide is a talented Dutch painter whose work has featured in prizes, publications and exhibitions throughout the Netherlands. Seeking to enter into dialogue with paint, he creates surfaces reminiscent of stains, resulting in the impression that paint is corroding through other layers. With the dark void like-stains drawing the viewer in and the remaining spaces of open linen acting as counters to the void, the appearance of his abstract pieces shift depending on the distance at which the viewer is positioned.
