Wim Claessen is a Dutch artist whose paintings have been widely exhibited on a national level, as well as in France, Belgium, Germany, and Italy. He describes the central theme in his art as being the landscape and states that there are no theories nor messages in his works, that he simply enjoys the act of painting. Claessen employs photographs and film stills, painting with several layers of acrylic until he is satisfied with the image.
