The canvas exudes a serene calm while capturing the majestic beauty of this unique piece of Dutch nature.
The composition greets me with an expansive view of the Wadden Sea, where the water stretches to the horizon. A gentle breeze strokes the surface of the sea, creating a subtle play of light and shadow. The colours range from the deepest navy blue in the distance to the vibrant hues of turquoise and emerald green… found closer to the shoreline.
The sky above the sea reflects the serenity of the scene. The clouds drift slowly by in elegant formations, painted with soft brushstrokes. The palette of the sky is drenched in a warm glow of orange and pink, as a final tribute to the slowly setting sun. A hint of gold illuminates the surface of the water, making it seem as if the sun is dancing its rays directly on the sea.
« Tension between freedom and threat can be read in my impressionism-inspired style. »
