Xavier Marabout's work is essentially based on the creation of pictorial mashups. In other words, Marabout strips away distant artistic universes to merge them together (an artistic movement called Strip Art). Thus, by borrowing from the comic strips of his childhood and the paintings of the great masters that fascinate him, he has gradually developed a style where the line and parody are omnipresent. Particularly… in his series: Tex Avery – Picasso where he organizes the meeting of the famous libidinous Wolf and the women painted by the Spanish artist… In short, through these cultural clashes, Marabout today claims the synthesis of genres.
